3429711013 | Vasculitis has characteristics of inflammatory lesions in the wall of vessels and may be due to different viruses. Pathophysiology is partially misunderstood. However, mechanisms including direct injury by the virus or vascular damage resulting from immune reaction are incriminated. Few viruses are thought to be responsible for vasculitis even though their triggering role is not always easily confirmed. In less common cases, vasculitis affects immunocompetent patients, thus resembling polyarteritis nodosa or cutaneous angiitis. | en | Definition | Active | Entire term case sensitive (core metadata concept) | SNOMED CT core |
